THE EIGHT FOOT LAW

May 21, 2008

Dear Ilene:

How are you?  I am fine! Sandye is fine too. I'm not saying which one of us is finer - but what I am saying is that I'm fine..and she is also fine. I hope that clears up any misunderstandings that have been circulating around the rumor mills of New York, Hollywood and Paris.

It's been very exciting around here lately. We have had our first brush with company. Real guests in our real house. My cousin Morty and wife Janice stopped by on their way back from Florida on their way to the Catskills for the summer. At the same time, my sister Sheila and spouse Arnie stopped by on their way back from their grandson's graduation from the U of Virginia.

Counting myself and Sandye, there were no less than six (6) people in the house at once! Everyone had a great time, and our guests all agreed that the house is beautiful. Of course, all credit goes to your friend from Indiana - Artist, sculptor, interior designer and landscape architect. (I made the tuna and egg salad, which were big hits as well).

My cousins have since left the scene, but Sis and Hubby will be enjoying the sights and sounds of Winnabow and vicinity for two more days. We will attempt a barbecue today. Hot dogs (kosher!) potato salad (southern style - whatever the hell that means) and Cokes - always the perfect drink to go along with any style of food.

I hope that someday we can host you in the same glorious manner. We love you - that's why!

Love, Lewis.
PS. regarding the first 2 lines of your memoir. Even one as great as myself in the field of "ghosting" cannot perform such a task. Your memoir is your own - and nobody else's.
